PTO MINUTES

September 5, 2006

6:30p - 8:00p

1. Meet and Greet: Went around room and introduced self.

2. Nomination of Officers 2006-2007:

· President: Lauren LaRue

· Co. President : Lou Walls

· Vice President: Michelle Woods

· Co. Vice President: Kathy Berry

· Treasure: Kristi Walker

· Secretary: Carla Henry

· Co. Secretary: Lisa Henry

· Publicity/Ads: Chip Brown

3. Decision on meeting time:

The decision was made to meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7pm. Arrangements will be made if additional meetings are necessary.

· Next meeting is scheduled for September 19th at 7pm to discuss Fall Carnival.

4. GOALS!!!!!

· Awnings over 4th grade classrooms.

· Help with the purchase of Fiddles for Music ($2000).

· Stock teacher supply room.

· Address parking issue.

· More teachers need to be involved.

· Send out questionnaires to teachers, children and parents to get their input.

· Wish list for teachers.

5. Fundraiser Ideas:

· T-shirt sales have already begun. Due date is September 11th.

· PTO Membership Drive needs to be planned. Possibly do at Fall Carnival.

· Fall Carnival is scheduled for October 21st from 1p - 5p.

· Long-sleeve class Polo shirts sales.

· Softball tournament.

· Themed Gift Baskets.

· Santa's Workshop

· Popcorn Party

IDEAS:

· Use indoor classrooms for each booth.

· Allow each participating classroom to come up with their own ideas for booth.

· Have a chili supper.

· Have inflatable toys in gym.

· Brainstorm at next meeting - September 19th, 7pm.
